The Explorographer™Hey there, long time no see! I hope you’ve been well. Me, I have been good. Doing my best to age gracefully but not sure I am doing well at it. Dani and I have taken a couple of trips since the pandemic hit. I have not had much interest though in digging out my expensive gear to be honest. On our last trip, which was to Nova Scotia I took a myriad of tech from my mirrorless cameras to several film cameras. I acquired a new old stock Minolta 35mm 7000 series camera that I had a blast shooting with. I will share some photos from that trip soon. Enough of that for now, on to the *big* news.
As of January 2026 this website will be retired. Well, the website won’t be but the stories on it will be. I will be packaging up 16 years of work into a downloadable .pdf ebook to share. See, I have been paying a company called SmugMug a LOT of money for the last 16 years and I am just not seeing the worth in it. I don’t feel that they represent the quality of my work anymore. And the cost cannot be justified. Because this website is integrated with theirs, the stories would all have to be re-written and the photos all hosted here or elsewhere. I just don’t have it in me to take on that job. I want to simplify my work here and get to posting more. And cutting out that huge extra step is my only choice.
So, in January I will be making a big post where you can download this whole site in a nice formatted .PDF. And a new chapter will begin. The stories will be shorter, hopefully still as interesting, and much more frequent. And, with much more variety of life in my world. As many of you know, my creativity spans beyond the lens and I really would like to share all of that with you all. Cheers to the holidays and I will see you soon after!
